CRS BOARD MEETING MINUTES
April 10,
2003


Present: Sue Brown, Cassandra Craigin, Pete Klaeser, Diane Arias, Larry Giannetti, Tom Navarro, Steve Gustas, Linda Kovacs, Bill Moylan, Jayne Willis, Karen Lansdowne, Pat Rhodes, Cecilia Bernal, Mary Zemanski

Approval of corrected minutes, motion Karen, 2nd Diane. Motion passed.


REPORTS:

Membership –

  • Unavailable this month xxx Members (xx new) and 184 GC


Web site –

  • Bios for Board have been or should be updated if not done for ‘03
  • Summary of web use and hits to sites
  • Please use message board to check ease of use
  • Porter County Casual Coast ad: 1/yr
  • Hiking Biking Trail Guide ad costs
  • Other Race Results link (minimum of 10 racers or large events)


INSTEP –

  • Next distribution at Gallery Gallop
  • Submissions due May 1
  • Continue with birthdays in INSTEP. Cecilia will e-mail to Jen


Stats –

  • Standings set up and going
  • Continue to add names
  • Race results goal of one week posting lag


JCBS 1m race –

  • Sponsorship obtained from
    • Omni
    • Panera
    • Krispy Kream
    • Bakers Cookies
    • Arnel Chrysler/Jeep
  • Committees and volunteers needed
  • Board members are encouraged to assist with race registration
  • Run and Walk


Gold Cup –

  • Race review for Running with the Irish and Ringing in Spring due
  • Race review will be posted on the Board Members Page


OLD BUSINESS:

  • Switch banquet from House of Lynwood to a more central location?
  • Banquet committee established: Karen Lansdow and Robin Bensin-Harvey
  • Need to book just after next meeting


NEW BUSINESS:

  • New race schedule printed
  • Clydesdale and Athena GC division and possibility of weigh in on July 1 each year
  • Bride of Zoy review by Tom – trail run and on dunes (part of ridge), poor refreshments, plain t-shirt, problems with finish, 110 participants in 15k and 10k
  • Insurance needed for equipment in the event of being stolen
  • Seiko stopwatch printer is broken…being repaired
  • December financial statement handed out (2002 end of year)
  • Strider clothing sold at RIS brought in $152
  • Strider on line store will stay open and on line for people to view and order stuff
  • Strider booth at PUC Fitness Fair (4/7 & 4/8) had a lot of traffic…I would expect 5 new members from the booth. Thanks to Tom Magill for helping out.
  • Jayne will look into a booth setup in May
